EV is back online for me

Got myself re reg and re approved *by myself*  at bsc LOL.  My suggestion is to try to rejoin like normal at bsc.com.  it will guide you to the clubs.battlestats.com/rbl page mentioned in another post.  from here there is another link to "join RBL".  I do believe myself, holmes, zara, tank, snoop, and a few others can approve/deny if need be hehe. 

Now gotta practice I haven't flown in over 2 years, been playin to much Halo LOL

K, another chance at RBL participation in WoW. I've made use of my new abilities and enlisted RBL in the March XvT WoW, which starts Friday, March 20th.  I expect this 1 week advance notice will give pilots enough chance to get their red tape in order and their ships rdy to go.    *Hands out cases of industrial strength WD-40 rust remover*

Regardless, hope some of ya's were able to get the client to work on their config cuz I never did mine.

As for getting the client to work for you, I still think there's hope, just not sure WHERE things are going wrong for you.  I mean...COME ON!....I got it to work for ME...rofl.  Prob just 1 small detail that's being missed.

Do you have a router? I don't know if thats the problem or not. Even if I get the client to work, then I still do not know if I can join a game. Would be good if I could try an IP launch....

What killed it for me many years ago was XvT not being able to do NAT. Which basically means if your router has the public IP and assigns your computer a private and thus all other computers in your house a private... and shares that public IP essentially with your household.

The only way to get it to work is to bring that public IP directly to your comp. This is true for both hosting and joining a game... I tried like heck many years ago to make it work and finally got ahold of a dev who worked on XvT who told me it's impossible to work with NAT at all.

So depending on your network setup it may be an easy thing to let your comp have the public directly, or it may be impossible, depends on your setup what router you have, if there's a switch involved etc..

Another method is to find a free dialup to play the game (since the game doesnt need broadband), but even some dialups dont assign publics anymore heh. Is Netzero still around?

Not sure on the tech aspects(no surprise there ). I'm on a router myself and find I can't host a game in the EV that anyone can join, although from what I understand of it, I just need to throw a certain switch in my comp to allow hosting.  Problem is, I've no idea which switch or how to find it.  If I take my comp off the router though, I've no trouble hosting(not easy to do when there's usually at least one other family member making use of the router and tend to frown on getting booted off the internet ).
Another possiblility would be to simply IP into a game, once the host has launched.  Biggest hold back in the EV, least from my point of view,
 has been available hosts.

Wonder if the EV could be used for non xvt/xwa games?  Thinking specifically of Crimson Skies.

Well mate I'm up for it again............the nights I tried to fly last time had very low participation.  Had two nights with 3 peeps.....for over 2 hrs.....so we just gave up LOL.  I have the EV working but haven't been able to get a game going to make sure I can connect properly all the way through. 

heheh and Holmes yes netzero is still around........that was my dial up isp before I switched to cable just 3 months ago.  still have that account running too....................prob should cancel it LOL
