BSC 100 day roster rule changed
06.09.2011 18:44 | 282 | Holmes
Greetings,

The 100 day drop rule was mainly in place to cut down on false game reporting and to keep the user select dropdowns for event match submission cleaner/up to date....

Yo Holmes.  I'll have to catcha online in like ICQ or something sometime, but this'll give you a heads up.

I'm looking into getting this board for my site, and I've noticed that you need MySQL and PHP as well as this board.

What I need to know is the following:

How big does all of this together get?
Do the posts take up space themselves?
How difficult (for a newcomer to to MySQL and PHP) is it to set up?

I've probably got other questions, but they'll hit me only after I run into you lol.

I would highly suggest going to http://www.yabbse.org/ as thats where this software comes from. They have a huge discussion forum there too that is searchable and where many people have probably asked the same questions you may have Smiley

Depends on the usage your board gets and how you set it up.

Yes. All dynamic data (posts, etc.) are stored in the database, the software itself is only 500K or so depending on your install and how much eye candy you have.

Depends on the newcomer. Also depends on where you are hosting it. If your host already has a PHP capable web server and MYSQL database available to you then it should be relatively easy, just follow the instructions that come with the board software. If your hosting your own server then it takes quite a bit more knowledge. I would suggest getting a host that already has these options as it will be much less painful for you as a newcomer.

PS I wish I could spell so I wouldn't have to edit my posts Tongue
