The T-Wing is an interceptor/space superiority fighter originally designed for the Alliance, which already had the A-Wing as an interceptor, so it was mass produced and sold to pirate bands very cheeply.  It is fast, and very manueverable, but all that comes at a cost.  The ship does have a hyperdrive, but it's hull is weak and it has weak shielding.  T-Wings have twin laser cannons and I believe a concussion missle launcher.  You can see some of these babies in Tie Fighter, and I believe in X-Wing Alliance.  *S*
