BSC 100 day roster rule changed
06.09.2011 18:44 | 429 | Holmes
Greetings,

The 100 day drop rule was mainly in place to cut down on false game reporting and to keep the user select dropdowns for event match submission cleaner/up to date....

do or do not! there is no try

« on: August 04, 2005, 10:06:51 PM »

Ok guys I know that there haven't been many news postings lately but honestly in the world that is most near and dear to our hearts there hasn't been alot going on.  And I know most of you are engaged in the galaxies experience.  If anyone wants to fly or play mech warrior or gbg drop me a line and we'll figure something out.  And ya might be able to talk me back into CS but I'll have to reinstall lol

Anyways on to the point of this topic!  ROTS is probably the biggest news in the Star Wars world right now.  The movie was brilliant, and I loved the darker tone.  There were a couple of scenes I wish would have been longer, and a couple I wish would have actually been in the movie, but this was finally worthy of George Lucas.  Mainly I wish the battle of Kashyyyk would have been longer, can't get enough of wookies flying like tarzan!!  :)  And I wish they would have kept the scene with the official formation of the Alliance.  (it's supposed to be an xtra on the dvd on deleted scene reel)  Other than that all of the plot lines were tied up nicely except that anyone who only has seen the movies has no idea who, what, or where Grievous came from.  And I gotta admit after reading most of the books in the EU even I have no idea where he came from.  Gotta love how George always found a way to add a character out of the blue to every movie.

While the movie was a great success the game on the other hand was a complete stinkaroo.  Picture the Phantom Menace game with bad camera angles.  The one bright spot is the "boss" battles where you get to fight other jedi in lightsaber combat are actually fun, although all you have to do to win is button mash.  And there is a rather kewl alternate ending you can unlock once you complete the game.  It's worth a rental but don't waste your money on it.

Probably the last huge bit of news and good news at that for all of us closet dark siders (gimma a holla holla man Wink )  is that there will be a new novel coming out near halloween featuring the rise of Darth Vader.  This book will bridge the gaps between  Ep 3 and 4, at least where Vader is concerned.

Alrighty this should do it for now.  Hopefully Battlefront 2, Empire at War and the new EU novels can be of good quality as well.

Ahhhh yes I almost forgot speaking of EU novels (and why I haven't been online as much lol) I've been reading the Clone Wars novels and most are so so but the ones that stand out to me are the Medstar books, Dark Rendezvous (Yoda finally appears as a main character and shows alot of personality), and Labrynth of Evil.  The Medstar books flowed very well and had alot of humor in them.  Kinda felt like reading a starwars MASH episode.  Dark Rendezvous finally focuses on Yoda and his personality.  There are quite a few bits of humor as appearantly even Yoda isn't immune to the darkside, especially when he's hungry......LOL.  Labrynth of Evil was awesome.  Goes into a bit of a backstory of Grievous and centers on Sidious and Dooku's plot to destory the Jedi.  The end of the book is the actual battle and invasion of Coruscant where Palpatine is kidnapped (where we find him at the beginning of ROTS).  Now I know George had his reasons, but to me this book should have been the second movie.  It was that good.

Nice to hear from ya man.  Those are some good updates, although I've heard that ROTS the game was considered pretty good.  I might have heard wrong though, and I certainly haven't played it.

I agree with the Medstar, and Dark Rendevous books comments.  Those are great books, and well worth reading.  There's another one I read that I can't think of right now that's really good too.  I'll get the title and post it.

The one with Mace Windu was kinda hard to follow in my opinion, but I think it was that way because Mace is pretty unemotional to begin with.  Kinda hard to write as him I would imagine.

It's not that the ROTS game is terrible but from the hype and all I was expecting alot more from it.  It's styled like the Phantom Menace Game, but for about 90% of the game you can barely see the enemies your fighting at the edge of the screen.  They don't exactly rush out to ya like in other titles, this really lowered the rating for me.  Once you get to the boss battles the game is really kewl as it's just you and the other jedi 1 v 1.  That part of the game rocks.

I had a very hard time getting into the Cestus Deception and Shatterpoint.  Shatterpoint really was confusing the way everyone was two faced.  I did get into the Cestus book about halfway through and I did get a kick out of the clones naming themselves.  (I think that was introduced in that book.)  I just started reading the ROTS novel and it's good so far, but I haven't found anything that wasn't in the movie just yet.

LOL ohhhh don't worry mate I'm still lurking in the shadows just don't have much to discuss since I'm not able to join the galaxies parade.  Now that you guys are playing that is it worth all the charges?  *S*

I personally find it is...I can find few other games out there currently where a majority of us can all play at the same time...plus there are lots of things 1 can do by themselves as well.  There are so many skills to explore, it takes time.
